47 days

I have my wedding cards ready and I am writing my wedding invitation list. Boy hehehehe...it is a lot of work writing and listing these people. I started to write down the names of the people for my invitation list and my mum was mad. hehehehe. How can she be mad? all I asked were the names of her relatives. She was using a high pitch voice and pretty much annoyed. I told her to really just calm down. Apparently she has all the ambition to call people but she also hate the process of handing out invitation. NOW y not just have a small wedding in the first place? well she is in a Brunei dilemma; u can't exclude people because people will complained to u that they were excluded in the wedding list. The problem with people is that they can lie.

I witness a very rude guest today. It was a sungkai invitation but during which the plates weren't enough. there was this one lady. she didn't get any plate so what happen was she got up and went home. leaving the host dumbfounded hehehehe. talk about 50 something Drama queen. This is a case of rude human who didn't think about others feelings. why can't she just wave her hand up and tell the host? y can't she got up and get the plate from inside the kitchen? I guess people are rude.

along the duration of my Wedding preparation I came across amazing annoying people mainly close relative and even sibling. There are people whose main purpose in life is to annoy the living daylights out of you. They will tell u comparison stories to what your planning an they will annoy you with what others were doing for the their wedding preparation and how fast they were doing it. these stories were annoying because- I didn't ask to know about them. So I assumed there are hidden agendas to telling them.

hehehehehehehe. I put a big red warning sign on their forehead called - I live to annoy u. So I won't be intimidated. However the fact that I mention about this ordeal is already showing how successful she is doing it.

anyhow.

Furniture- furniture hunting at Jackhan, Deli, sengkurong courts, muara, d Art co, and all over brunei. I can't find a good furniture. I prefer my old one but still I am looking for one. Prices ranges form 6K to 3.5K non at the price of 1K worth buying.

Flowers deco. Owh I love flowers even artificial ones. Trouble with fresh ones are keeping them fresh and with my wedding there is just no wedding planner I may have to do it for my self. i love flowers. I hope i won't over do them later

2 months to the wedding

when do you know you want to marry this guy?

1. Never in the whole history of my life do I love someone as I love him.
2. He completes me- although this is a fantasy but partly this is soooooo true. I have always known I am bad tempered and he had once or twice experienced my emotional ups and downs. He understands anger and how most of the time it is not necessary. Our previous issues were minute and unimportant and often he talked me out of getting angry.
3. He challenged me intellectually
4. He makes me laugh.

basically- looks doesn't matter. but honestly i can stare at his face for a long long time. u can say this is disgusting information lah hahahahahahhaha. what can I say it is the truth.

Any how I am in my couple last month of the wedding day. I had

1. booked my catering services
2. costume made my clothes- and we intent to keep it- its purple BTW
3. Send my wedding cards for printing
4. booked for my pelamin
5. bought door gift
6. Bought tickets to KL for honeymoon
7.Got materials for the whole family
8. attend 1 krusus kahwin
9. got to know the lady who is doing my dresses -boy she is nice and friendly

now  I am still doing
1. finalizing my bedroom
2. thinking about how to store all my worldly belonging
3. planning for the honeymoon
4. planning for the bachelorette party ( a big maybe)
5. thinking about the overall house to clean up and tidy up.
6. Looking for possible bedsheet
7. looking for possible curtains
8. collecting names for the wedding cards

in the mid of all this

What to do for merisik

**panic stricken family members exist. they came for the sole purpose to also make you panic**

things that I should prepare on a Merisik Event.

1. FOOD (like any other occasion)
2. LIST of the things your side is asking for in your wedding.

Merisik tend to be small and so there is no need to worry. However if you know me...My family is gigantic...'A' family was only four but I managed to call more than 20 hahahaha. so I cooked 3 chickens and mee goreng. My sis bought satay and food looks good. The others bought other things. It was a very memorable night. which ends with having to send my dad (for gout) to the hospital... hahahahaha.

we had so many people that we had to put this boy here :D

The out lay of the list

This list I did not prepare early. One of my sister in law (OMSiL) was a secretary. she was being particular about the production of this list. She creates this template and so I'm sharing it with you. OMSiL is such a perfectionist that even when she wanted to fold the paper into an envelop she hesitated and we had to print the paper 3 times...eventually I fold it and put it in.

The many events of Brunei wedding

I will start these series of info with the main steps in a traditional wedding

1. Merisik- Asking for the woman intended's avalability
2. Bertunang- groom asking for a wedding proposal, a promise to be married
3. Menghantar Mas kahwin and akad Nikah
4.Ambil-ambilan
5.balik 3 hari

The proposal

In a Brunei wedding, you are engage only when you have the grooms family over to seek for a proposal for you. But in the Modern Brunei wedding proposal can be anytime anywhere...and so my story continues with

20.10.2010

'A'  was nervous about our date. It was 10 days after he proposed to me to be his Girlfriend. The night before this date...he asked me... (i don't remember the exact words) whether I would marry him. I said- I will answer when the time comes. hehehe

so on the 20th of October 2010. Him coming back form work, we went to Empire hotel beach. At the end of the beach there are two seats for couples. we sat on one of them. facing the sea and infront of it was a big small island of rock. There he held my right hand and got down on one knee. He pulled out a ring. And ask me the basic words that I have never heard ever before given to me
"would you marry me?" I was surprised, heart beats faster. I couldn't say anything. "would you promise to be mine forever"
as he bend down. i looked into his eyes and said

"yes, i will marry you". when u meet someone you know loves you and you have learned to love him back...there is no reason to hold back

and so the wedding plans continue

This story was originally written 25/2/2011.

The time for Boyfriend and serious relationship

I have never tried any serious relationship before. on the 10.10.2010. The guy- I met a year a go bluntly told off- is asking me to go on a date especially for the special date. It was a morning date...I woke up around 6 and we drove to Berakas Beach. It was my first beach walk with him. The morning was cool and we walked until we can manage.

My friend then was holding my hand. It felt comfortable. It felt like I have reached home.
we continue our day with breakfast and then to Atirah. where he said he wanted to get something. i waited in the car. I waited. until he came back with roses. 3 to symbolized I LOVE U.

He said- would u be mine
i said- i am already yours.
that Day I smelled my roses all the way to empire where we watched Repo man. It wasn't a romantic movie but i enjoyed it just the same. all that time i worried that my rose would wilt in his car. but when i came back it didn't

That day I asked him- what am I to him?
He said- Girlfriend
I smiled.
If u asked me did my heart beat faster? that would be in the next story
